AIEA is committed to sustainability and inclusivity at the 2024 Annual Conference, and looks forward to sessions during the conference on the subthemes of "Leveraging Diversity and Inclusion through a Multicultural Campus Environment" and "Prioritizing Sustainable Internationalization." 

Sustainability 

• AIEA has committed to not serving beef or pork at full-conference events. 
• AIEA has committed to reducing printing costs at the conference: the full schedule for the conference is available on the mobile app rather than printed form; evaluations are available on the app and online; and single-use signage has been reduced. 
• The 2024 Conference Venue, the Marriott Marquis Washington DC, has received a Silver Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), verified by the Green Building Certification Institute​
• AIEA will be offering a way for participants to sign up to carpool to the conference as possible - this will be available in January. 
  

Inclusivity 

• Gender-neutral restrooms are available at the conference venue 
• AIEA will have ASL interpreting services available upon request. 
• Closed captioning will be available on all virtual conference events, such as pre-conference workshops, the Newcomer Orientation, and meet-ups. 
• Pronoun badge ribbons will be available for those who would like to wear them
• A tranquility room will be available for those who need a quiet place to focus away from stimulation.
