AIEA is accepting nominations for members for four taskforces, with the anticipated timeline of a 6-month term.
SIO Standards Co-Chairs: Cheryl Matherly, Voytek Wloch This is a 6-month task force that will review and assess the current SIO Standards, and update professional standards/a competencies framework for international education leaders.
Fundraising Co-Chairs: Jill Blondin, David Fleshler The Fundraising Task Force is a 6-month task force that will provide an analysis and plan for how fundraising could be incorporated into AIEA’s organizational strategy and operations in line with the overall goals of AIEA’s Strategic Plan. The charge of the Task Force is to create a plan that will allow AIEA to raise funds from individuals and funds controlled by individuals or families (i.e., donor advised funds, family foundations, etc.). The Task Force will concentrate its work on direct giving campaigns, peer-to-peer fundraising, bequests, events, and other non-organizational fundraising activities. The Task Force is not charged with raising funds from governments, NGOs, Foundations, or other organizations (with the exception of family foundations). The Task Force will engage in research regarding how various fundraising mechanisms work and whether such mechanisms are viable and recommended for AIEA. The plan will recommend ways to establish a fundraising mechanism within AIEA, with priority targets and goals. Part of the plan will include a timeline and recommended next steps.
Strategic Services Co-Chairs: Kara Godwin, Philipp Reichert This is a 6-month task force that will develop a plan for a new business stream for AIEA that focuses on innovative, revenue-generating strategic services for institutions. The task force is requested to identify current market gaps, determine where AIEA has a competitive edge, develop 2-3 potential pilot program frameworks, and share recommended next steps.
Conference Reimagining Co-Chairs: Fabiola Riobe, Kalpen Trivedi This 6-month task force will review and assess the current state of the AIEA annual conference and develop a plan for incremental changes over the next three years (2027-2029), including a recommendation for the 2029 conference. This task force will work with the AIEA conference planner on this strategic planning process.
