Standing Committees AIEA is accepting nominations for members for the four standing committees. New comittee members serve 3-year terms. Membership Outreach and Awards Committee The Member Outreach and Awards Committee focuses on strategies for the recruitment of new members and the enhancement of member benefits. The committee develops membership programming, including the New Member Welcome and the pre-conference Newcome Orientation, as well as policy proposals and recommendations regarding member-related issues. This committee is also responsible for the development and promotion of AIEA Awards and the selection of award recipients.
Public Policy Committee The Public Policy Committee monitors and responds to policy issues affecting senior international officers and international education leaders in the field of international education. The Committee identifies and prioritizes policy issues for AIEA attention, develops strategies to advance advocacy efforts, and educates members at all levels on effective policy engagement. It operates through regular virtual and in-person convenings, ad-hoc meetings, and collaboration with other AIEA Committees and other partner organizations to ensure sustained and strategic advocacy on behalf of AIEA members. Publications and Resources Committee The Publications and Resources Committee primarily focuses on developing and advocating for the editorial policies and priorities of the Association, including the solicitation and review of proposed publications. The committee also makes recommendations to the Board regarding publication-related issues. Committee members are expected to actively participate in the review of submissions and the generation of ideas for the development of new resources and publications.
Professional Development and Engagement Committee The Professional Development & Engagement (PD&E) Committee is a large and active committee serving three-year terms. The committee actively develops, supports and promotes a variety of leadership engagement activities for AIEA members, including annual conference workshops, Presidential Fellows selection process, Thematic Forums, AIEA Academies, and Town Halls on a variety of topics. The Committee purposefully promotes diversity, inclusion and equity in all respects and encourages participation of members outside of North America. Organized around several subcommittees, the full PD&E committee meets monthly to develop goals and monitor progress.
