2016-17 AIEA Presidential Fellows

Roger Adkins is Director of International and Cultural Education at Gustavus Adolphus College, where he is responsible for the intercultural mission of the college, study away programs, and international student and scholar services. He currently chairs the administrative board of the ISLE program, serves on the advisory board for CISabroad, and serves on the consortium board for UMAIE. Adkins holds PhD and MA degrees from the University of Oregon and a BA from Hiram College.

Mark Hoffman is Vice Provost for International Programs at Oregon State University.  He has been a faculty member at OSU since 2000.  Prior to his current appointment, he served as Associate Dean in the College of Public Health and Human Sciences where he was responsible for promoting international experiences and student success.  He earned a BS from Indiana University, MS from San Jose State University and PhD from Indiana University.

Amy Rell is founding Dean of Global Education at Regis University.  Rell is Phi Beta Kappa, a Fulbright Scholar and a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellow.  Rell completed the Harvard University Women in Leadership certificate program and has served on the executive board for the AJCU International Education Committee and the Hispanic Chamber Education Foundation.  She holds a PhD and MA from UCLA and a BA from Tulane University.

Julie Strecker is the Director of International Programs at Mercer University.  She serves all campuses and is responsible for study abroad programming, facilitating international institutional relationships, international student and scholar services, crisis management, and directing the English Language Institute.  She also coordinates collaboration among international offices of the Southern Conference Academic Exchange.  Strecker holds an MA in foreign languages from West Virginia University and a doctorate in educational leadership from Mercer University.
