Presidential Perspectives

The Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA) is pleased to announce the launch of the "Presidential Perspectives" Series, a project that involves publishing articles commissioned from college and university presidents in the US and around the world and representing different types of institutions that offer contemporary perspectives on international education. Beginning in Fall 2011, AIEA will publish these articles online at www.aieaworld.org once or twice per month and at the end of a 12-month period, prepare an eBook as well as a conventional paper book with a collection of these articles for dissemination to AIEA members and other interested parties.

We believe that presidents listen to other presidents and that this may be a way of making more presidents aware of the importance of advocating for a global education agenda on their campuses. If you are a member of AIEA and would like to recruit your president to participate in a project like this, please let us know. We are primarily interested in articles from presidents who can articulate in a compelling way, in his/her own words (and not delegating this role to a subordinate), a vision for international education that can inspire other university presidents to engage in more substantial ways in advancing international education on their respective campuses. Please email aiea@duke.edu for further details.

Below you will find the current installments in this Presidential Perspectives Series from AIEA. Check back regularly for new updates.
