New! International Higher Education Clearinghouse
The International Higher Education Clearinghouse (IHEC) is a new online resource for scholars and practitioners in higher education who are concerned with international trends and practices. It is designed to be a portal to the endless resources on the web, but organized and summarized in a way to help visitors make efficient use of their time.  Links cover a range of information including Bologna and the GATS, databases with statistics on international student mobility, policy trends throughout the world in regard to quality assurance, financing higher education, equity and access.  Recent papers and publications produced by the World Bank, UNESCO, various professional associations and research centers are also easily available at the IHEC.   To access, click here: www.bc.edu/ihec

New! UNESCO Portal for Higher Education Institutions
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has established an online Portal on Higher Education Institutions. The Portal provides access to: higher education institutions sanctioned either by government or other competent authorities and general information about higher education, accreditation, quality assurance and related subjects in various countries. It is an entry point to each country's institutions and information, and not a centralized database or international "list."

Currently, information can be accessed on the following countries: Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, Egypt, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Norway, United Kingdom, and the United States of America. In the next stage of the project, the number of countries covered will be expanded.

To access the portal, please go to: www.unesco.org/education/portal/hed-institutions.

New! The GlobalHigher Ed Blog
The GlobalHigherEd blog is edited by Kris Olds (University of Wisconsin-Madison) and Susan Robertson (University of Bristol). GlobalHigherEd was established on 1 September 2007 and currently receives about 7,000 visits per month from people based around the world in a wide array of institutions (including consulting firms, credit rating agencies, foundations and funding councils, higher education associations, the media, ministries and associated development agencies, multilateral agencies, and universities), as well as members of the public.

The GlobalHigherEd blog is designed to highlight and then archive information about new developments (e.g., a new policy or development project), resources (e.g., reports, websites), analytical networks, and so on, so as to better track what is happening with respect to the construction of new globalized knowledge/spaces.
