AIEA expresses appreciation to our conference interns, without whom the conference would not be possible. 

2018 Annual Conference Interns 

Zhouying Hu

2018 Lead Intern: Zhouying Hu 

This is Zhaoying's third year with the AIEA conference organizing team. Zhaoying currently works as a member of the Go Global team at the University of British Columbia, helping students make the most of their international learning experience.

Sasha Cui is a Doctoral student in the Higher Education program at the University of Rochester, Warner School of Education and Human Development. She has an M.A. in International and Comparative Education concentration in International Higher Education from George Washington University. She brings years of experience in working in both the nonprofit organizations and for-profit sectors in the areas of international education and human development. Her research interests are international student affairs, internationalization of higher education and international exchange program. 

Devin Ferguson is pursuing her passion for fostering international exchange and student mobility opportunities through her continued studies as a Masters student with American University's International Training and Education Program. Her interests, which include the study of Asian languages and cultures, most recently took her to Japan on a two-year opportunity to teach English as an assistant language teacher with the JET Program.

Jamila Searchwell is currently completing her master’s degree in International Training & Education at American University in Washington D.C., where she also works in the International Admissions Office as a Graduate Assistant. As a professional, her interests include cross-cultural communication and dialogue in both international and domestic settings; and the implementation of international education initiatives within higher education; particularly in reference to study abroad and the incorporation of international students in the student body as a venue for campus internationalization.

Joy Zhou is currently pursuing her Master's degree in International Education at the George Washington University. Prior to moving to DC, Joy studied Strategic Communications at Elon University. She is a Benjamin Gilman International scholarship recipient who spent a semester studying abroad in Denmark while living with a host family. Joy is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Shanghainese.
